What does pain in the penis of an 11 year old mean? -

My son is 11 years old. Since he was about 6 he has been having pain in his penis. About every 6 or seven months he will complain about a stinging sensation in his penis. He says it hurts from about the middle to the tip. this seems very strange and not quite like growing pains. What do you Think?

Ask him straight up if there s anything he is doing to it to cause that to happen. e.g. masturbation. Don t be surprised - a LOT of kids start young, even if they don t know all about it or what it s called. Or is he just mucking around poking it into something from time to time the way kids do - curiosity. In other words, try to define what his pain is from - probe a bit deeper to find out, so you are informed as to what it might be. This process of elimination can then either be resolved from his information in the same way that so-called ghosts are 9 times out of 10 something physical and practically caused; and the other 1 time is when you visit the doctor. It might also be a good idea to get him up to speed on what he knows about masturbation and sex and puberty, etc. You can do this by simply finding out what he already knows or thinks he does. Many children today have a huge access to info. (the net of course) but not all have the right info (porn, or their friends telling fibs).

if he is circumcised it could be that there is not enough skin to allow for adequate expansion causing pain as the internal tissue is being compressed towards the tip daily stretching of the skin could help, just have him pull the skin outwards as far as possible a few minutes a day a couple times day and this well help loosen the skin up and allow for erections but it may take a while if nothing is done it could be painful but work itself out, however since it s already compressed there is an increased risk of a bend which is caused by damage to the penis.

It sounds like he was bending his penis the wrong way when he sits down. If he only has it like twice a year then I wouldn t worry about it.
