Well, what do you think they ll do? If it s burned off there isn t much that can be done. If this happens to an infant (which is incredibly sad) the infant might have a sex reassignment and be turned physically into a girl; though this doesn t really tend to work in the long term. I suppose the penis could be quot;reconstructedquot; but it won t look (and may not function) like a normal penis. If it s cut off the doctor would probably either try to reattach it or leave the cut part off and cauterize what s left. Either way the person will be scarred and such. Such things happen from time to time, and is far more common in infant circumcisions than adult circumcisions because the infant penis is so small. In almost every case the circumcision probably wasn t even necessary, so it definitely did way more harm than good. And yet many parents still elect to have their infants undergo this unnecessary procedure, with its risk (however small) of maiming, disfigurement, and death . . .
Sometimes it can be successfully reattached, but I assume you re talking about cases where it can t be. They used to recommend taking the testicles, too, and raising the boy as a girl with hormone treatment, but they re just discovering that we tend to know whether we re male or female regardless of what we see quot;down there.quot; Sadly, so far as I know, there s no way yet to replace a penis with anything that provides the sexual gratification of a real one. Of course, if you ve never had a penis, you don t really miss it, and sexual gratification can be reached (eventually) by stimulating the testicles and the nerve between them and the anus, and by massaging the prostate gland. That s probably the best outcome, along with plastic surgery to provide both the appearance of a penis and a duct for getting semen into a woman s vagina for pregnancy purposes, all much less drastic than total castration and attempted quot;reassignmentquot; surgery.
cut your lest arm off and use it as a penis
