it can be an infection, a cyst, cancer, herpes or even a normal ocurance. last year i was getting pain and blood on ejaculation. it turned out to be a prostate infection, so i kind of learned a lot during that. they will take a urine test for a UTI, may do a swab to see if there is a herpes blister that formed inside, and do a prostate exam. then they will likely put him on some pretty strong antibiotics for a few weeks. the prostate being in the core of the body, antibiotics arent as effective at fighting it, if everything else is okay. if the prostate has a lump they will get him to a specialist for further tests that may include a biopsy or others.
get your prostate checked! Get a blood test to measure PSA and if that is high you may need a more invasive test which involves rubber gloves and bending over.
