The tip of my penis is red and painful to the touch. Any suggestions? -

For the first 16 years of my life I was unable to retract my foreskin, but after some stretching exercises I was finally able to do so, but found that the meatus of the penis was very red and somewhat painful to the touch. I saw several doctors and finally had it biopsied (OUCH!), but the only thing they could tell me was that it s not really anything serious and they classified it as nonspecific inflammation. While I m not really worried about it, it s still kind of a nuisance, especially given all of the creams I ve tried (hydrocortisone, bacitracin, neosporin, etc.). Does anyone have any suggestions as to what this might be or how I could get it to go away? Any input is appreciated.

This link discusses everything about you problem. Hope this helps. Good Luck! LOLz! http://www.glansie.com/en/questions.htm

See another doctor. Really. (quot;Meatusquot;?) Change underwear, soap, moisturizer. Maybe you re too zealous with your hygiene?

The condition you had, phimosis (inability to retract the foreskin) can happen. Because you are not circumcised, it is not uncommon for an inflammation of the glans penis (tip of penis) to develop because that sheath of skin can trap organisms. This inflammation is called balanitis. It can be a form of yeast infection. The best way to treat this is to keep the area clean and dry as much as possible. I have included a link that shows a good daily regime to manage this condition. I hope it is helpful. Also have you considered getting circumcised? It might make it more comfortable. Good luck.
