What medical test for a male would require general anesthesia and insertion of a tube in his penis? -

A friend of mine told me her husband of has been seeing a doctor. The reason he gave her for seeing a doctor is that he does not feel well. He is scheduled for tests tomorrow, all he would tell her about the proceedure is it required general anestheia and a tube was to be inserted into his penis. My friend has also complained that they have not had sex in months. She is concerned that the lack of sex is partially why her husband went to a doctor to begin with. Any ideas?

Retrograde Urethrogram The best explaination I have ever seen is here: www.med.umich.edu/1libr/ urology/retrograde.htm

urologist stuff, prostate or more likely bladder.

Prostate problems - possibly reduction.

Sometimes they use a miniature camera to scope out the insides of the bladder. In many procedures, a catheter is inserted into the penis to relieve pressure, as it allows the urine to flow out freely. Or, sometimes certain meds may be administered through such a catheter.
