Why measure it? What are you going to do with the results? You will either brag if you think its big, or worry if you think it s small. Measuring is a waste of time.

There is no correct way. And why bother? It won t get bigger if you measure it. Medical researchers measure the erect penis along the top from the base to the very tip. They push the measure in at the base to hit the pubic bone, so that everyone gets measured the same, regardless of fat deposits above the penis.

The thing that I would add is that if your penis points up you need to hold it down so it points straight out when you measure. Also if it is curved use a tape measure instead of a ruler. Measuring for girth is a little less clear. Some say measure around at mid-shaft and others say measure the thickest part. If the two are different, measure both and take the average of the two measurements. For example - if around the base is 5 inches and mid-shaft is 4.5 inches then your girth would be 4.75 inches.
